Gulf Islands

I recently took a two-hour ramble at Gulf Islands National Seashore. The park is divided into 12 units; I visited the Naval Live Oaks unit, which sits just east of Pensacola, FL. Beautiful weather and unspoilt coastline made for an enjoyable hike, though I’ll admit that persistent road noise from nearby Highway 98 proved to be an unwelcome distraction.

I took photos using two different lenses: a Sigma 17-70mm standard zoom lens and a Canon 75-300mm telephoto zoom lens. The Canon lens far outperformed the Sigma glass, so much so that I banned the latter lens from my camera bag. I’ll soon be auctioning it off on eBay.
