Frustrated by millennials’ lack of interest in buying cars, automakers plan to roll out a slew of new models aimed at appealing to today’s youth. These fresh four-wheeled offerings will arrive in showrooms later this year, and they’re certain to have the under-35 crowd flocking to dealerships from coast to coast.

A brave spider has taken up residence in my passenger-side mirror. She generally stays tucked behind the mirror when the car is moving. But on a recent day, moments before this photo was taken, I eyed her boldly skitching on a long strand of web as we motored down the road at 50 mph.

My previous post featured a rusty license plate. Logically, then, my follow-up post shows a beat-up, plate-less car. I took this photo at a body shop parking lot in Fowler, IN. The car — which I think is a Fiat but could be an Alfa Romeo — resembles a dead fish, methinks. In the same lot, I photographed a vintage Camaro and a tiger-striped, electric-orange pickup truck.

The 42-year-old license plate from my grandfather’s Ford had decomposed to a flaking, rusty, unsalvageable state. Sentimental me, I propped the plate up against a tree and photographed it. While doing so, the left-hand “LAND” side actually blew away. I disposed of the plate after capturing the photo.
